60:40 General Purpose Epoxy Polyester Resins for Hybrid Powder Coatings
HH2683 is a carboxyl polyester resin designed for 60/40 hybrid powder coatings for general purpose.
Powder flowability is the basic characteristic of powder, which refers to the ease of powder flow. Powder flow properties are related to many factors, such as powder particle size, shape, roughness, dry humidity, etc. In general, increasing the coefficient of friction between particles makes powder flow difficult. Generally, the powder flowability of spherical particles is the best, while the powder with irregular particle shape, small size and rough surface has poor flowability.
The glass transition temperature of the powder coating resin determines the flow properties and storage stability of the powder coating. The glass transition temperature increases, the stability of the powder increases, the agglomeration decreases, and the fluidity of the powder coating increases. The glass transition temperature increases with the increase of molecular weight. When the molecular weight increases to a certain extent, the glass transition temperature of the polymer does not change significantly. If the glass transition temperature is too high, the number average molecular weight of the resin is large, the melt viscosity is large, the fluidity is poor, and the mechanical properties of the powder coating film are reduced.
