Low Curing Powder Coating Polyester Resin for MDF Powder Coatings
HH2533 is a saturated polyester resin, which is mainly used for 50/50 polyester epoxy mixed powder coating, and can be realized low temperature curing at 130ºC.
Powder coatings have developed rapidly in recent years. Compared with traditional liquid coatings, powder coatings have the characteristics of energy saving, environmental protection and excellent comprehensive performance. With the strengthening of the concept of energy saving and environmental protection, the development of low-temperature curing polyester resin is a development trend. In addition, some heat-sensitive substrates (such as medium density fiberboard) are also sensitive to temperature and require low-temperature curing.
Reducing the curing temperature will inevitably require the resin to have high reactivity, and high reactivity will have a certain impact on the performance of the coating. The existing powder coating system mainly has the following problems when it is used for low temperature curing. On the one hand, the system reactivity is not enough, the powder coating cannot be completely cured, and the coating performance is not ideal; In order to achieve the reactivity required for low temperature curing, polyester resins often have high melt viscosity, high reactivity, and cannot be fully leveled under low temperature conditions. These all greatly affect the decorative properties of powder coatings.
HH2533 greatly improves the reactivity, and at the same time has good storage stability. When the resin is applied to powder coatings, it achieves low-temperature curing very well, the coating has good adhesion to the substrate, and has good leveling and stability. Chemical resistance, ideal for MDF powder coatings.
