Product Description

95/5 HAA Polyester Resin with Outstanding Anti-yellowing for Primid Powder Coatings
NH6586P is a saturated polyester resin, mainly used in polyester/primid powder coating systems.
Powder coating, as the name implies, is a powder coating. During the coating process, it is firstly adsorbed or accumulated on the surface of the substrate in a loose structure by electrostatic spraying. After the spraying is completed, the workpiece enters the hot drying tunnel, the substrate and the coating are heated and melted and flowed, and the original loose structure or accumulation pattern is destroyed with the melting and flow of the powder particles. It should be mentioned in particular that a local vortex effect, known as the Benard vortex, is produced by the liquid flow during film formation. The essence of the Bernard vortex is the change in the surface tension caused by the viscosity change accompanying the melting and solidification of the powder coating, so that the fluid with high viscosity and low surface tension sinks to the middle (concave) of the vortex, while the low viscosity high The surface tension fluid then rises to the perimeter of the vortex (convex) until curing is complete. In this process, the gas (air) in the original loose stacking voids after coating will aggregate to form bubbles and be discharged during the process of powder melting and collapse, and the small molecular gas from the inside of the coating or the substrate will also aggregate to form bubbles and discharged. As the viscosity of the system continues to increase during the curing process, the air bubbles entrained in the Bernard vortex eventually form pinholes during the discharge process. With the increase of the coating film thickness, especially above 120μm, the pinhole problem is especially obvious.
